Rustican Business Trust

A family-owned holding company based in Bountiful, North Salt Lake, founded by Ryan, Lauren, Stuart, and Sandy Taylor. Rustican is driven by innovation, artistic expression, and a commitment to building a lasting legacy. It serves as the foundation for a diverse range of ventures, including being the founding trust of the OSIBytes Group and holding a 50% share in SCS - Specialist Construction Service, as well as 100% ownership of the BlueEarthCore Datacenter and Specialist Engineering Division.

Specialist Construction Services (SCS)

A company in the construction and engineering sectors, with Rustican Business Trust holding a 50% share. My background combines hands-on project management experience in the construction industry with the IT expertise needed to manage a company's digital presence and infrastructure. For two years, I spearheaded construction projects in Cape Town, including foundation stabilization, retaining wall construction, and pool demolition. I help manage online marketing and website maintenance, leveraging project management methodologies to plan and execute IT infrastructure upgrades.

Past Business Affiliations and Involvement

A look at some of my previous ventures and affiliations that have contributed to my business experience.

  • Reliable Smart Technologies CC (formerly rstonline.co.za and rstonline.net) - Owner/Manager. Led a small team in the design and installation of integrated technology solutions for residential and commercial clients. Projects included: Bayview Penthouses, Atlantic Gold, Froggy Pond Community Precinct, Cape of Good Hope Gardens. Managed a team of 5 technical staff, providing on-site technical support, PC and PBX repair, wireless internet solutions, VoIP and PBX management, and network infrastructure establishment.
  • Winot Telecoms (winot.co.za, winot.net) - Manager. Founded the company to establish a new national wireless network in South Africa. Implemented network infrastructure using Mikrotik and Ubiquiti routers, Ditek radios. Implemented VoIP systems using FreePBX and Elastix, Yealink and Snom phones.

  • LanAccess (now TechAccess.co.za) - Network and KVM Engineer. Became the first Raritan-certified engineer in South Africa, providing Raritan KVM solutions to major businesses. Implemented Intertel VoIP systems and led data center cable upgrade projects.
  • Gijima AST (Absa bank Contract) - Customer Support Engineer. Provided comprehensive IT support to clients, ranging from troubleshooting laptop crashes to resolving complex SAP issues and even reloading servers. Gijima offers advanced turnkey solutions, and Gijima Technology Services (GTS) focuses on enhancing business capabilities with integrated platform solutions and services. Gijima also provides cloud solutions, security solutions, and human capital management.
  • Mannys Timber and Hardware, CMS Security - IT Manager. Designed and implemented a wireless network, provided IT support, maintained servers, and supported VoIP and analog phone systems.
  • MTN South Africa - Customer Implementation Engineer (Hosting) (PE-CE Terminations). Designed, implemented, and maintained complex network infrastructures. Managed large-scale projects and international links. Implemented and maintained SIP services.
  • Frandsen Media Corporation - Sandhill Media, Canyon, Cache Valley Media Groups. - Regional IT Operations Manager. Oversaw technology infrastructure for radio stations, including virtualization, studio upgrades, and network infrastructure overhaul.
  • Sandhill Media Group - Regional - Network and Information Technology Manager. Enhanced core network infrastructure, contributed to network designs and implementations, and provided support for network and infrastructure systems.
  • Brigham Young University - Idaho - Student Employee. Teaching Assistant: Guided students in networking concepts. Information Technology Security Specialist: Analyzed and secured on-campus systems.
